How to go green: The latest trend in the hip science world is to go green. This means to be as environmentally friendly as possible in order to save energy and protect the earth.

There are hundreds of ways to go green and save the planet one day at a time. Going green includes many aspects of your lifestyle including water use, energy, toxic exposure, waste, food, and transportation. The small changes made by you, can eventually make a BIG difference.  Many people have even started to build completely green homes.  They have solar power throughout the whole house, have water savers installed, use environmentally friendly paints, and other house-building materials. If you want to go green, the best place to start is in your very own room.  Make your little world green in order to one day make the whole world green.

Frederick County STEM Educator of the Year Award: Nominations now being accepted

Nominations are now open for the 2011 Frederick County STEM Educator of the Year Award at the 8th Annual Frederick County Tech Awards Celebration.

The STEM Educator of the Year Award is open to all educators who are furthering excellence in the classroom and who are exciting K-12 students about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).  Nominees can self-nominate or be nominated by others.
