Once again, MdBio is changing the face of STEM education
Introducing the Mobile eXploration Lab, the country’s largest, most advanced mobile laboratory. Called MXLab for short, the lab has been custom-designed by MdBio to expand new technology and laboratory science experiences and pique students’ interests in STEM learning and careers.
Inside the lab, MdBio’s educators will engage participants in hands-on experiences using technologies not available in schools. MXLab instructors will combine MdBio’s core bioscience and chemistry curriculum with data set modeling, virtual reality, cybersecurity and game-based learning. The MXLab will complement MdBio’s sought-after MdBioLab, allowing the Foundation to serve additional students and offer increased workforce development and teacher training programs.
Funding for the MXLab represents a unique public-private partnership, with investments made by the MdBio Foundation, the State of Maryland, philanthropic organizations, and corporate supporters.
The new mobile lab was built in collaboration with Triune Specialty Trailers, a Madison Heights, Michigan-based specialty manufacturer of custom expandable trailer solutions.
